For Employers

Reasonable-Suspicion Drug Testing

When a supervisor observes signs of impairment, you need to test now β€” and document it. LabX supports reasonable-suspicion (for-cause) testing with fast collection and LC-MS/MS confirmation so an on-the-spot decision holds up later.

Documenting reasonable suspicion

Train supervisors to record specific, contemporaneous observations (behavior, speech, appearance) before testing. That documentation, plus an observed collection and lab confirmation, is what defends the action.

Talk to a licensed physician

Test results support workplace decisions but are not a medical diagnosis. Anyone with questions about a result or their health should talk to a licensed physician. Employer screening results are reviewed by licensed and trained Medical Technologists; LabX does not currently offer Medical Review Officer (MRO) review, and employers can speak with a LabX toxicologist about a result. See our medical disclaimer.
